Choosing Gratitude in the Ups and Downs of Life

Hello, friends 👋

First, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog posts, for showing up, and for being here. I truly appreciate each and every one of you.

Most of the time, I use this space to share tips and ideas, but today I want to be real with you. Life isn’t always smooth sailing. We all experience ups and downs, and we don’t always talk about them. Right now, I’m in a bit of a “down” season, and I’ve been reminding myself of the things I’m grateful for. Gratitude doesn’t make the hard days disappear, but it does make them easier to carry.

Here are three things that keep me grounded:

1. My Family ❤️

Without my family, I’d be lost. Life’s chaos can sometimes feel overwhelming, but truthfully, I wouldn’t know how to function without it. The busy schedules, the noise, the craziness, it’s what makes life full, and I’m thankful for it every single day.

2. My Friends 🤝

If there’s one lesson I’ve learned, it’s this: hold your true friends close. Real friends walk beside you through the ups and downs, helping you navigate life’s messier moments. Not everyone who enters your life is genuine, some people are just there for what they can get. But the ones who truly care? They’re priceless.

3. My Job 💻✨

Sure, we all have mornings when we wish we could stay in bed. But when you love what you do, it changes everything. My work not only provides for me, but it also gives me purpose and drive. Having a job you’re passionate about makes even the hardest days worth showing up for.

As we ride the rollercoaster of life, it’s so easy to get down on ourselves. We start asking all the questions:

  • Why do people act the way they do?

  • What did I do to cause this?

  • Why can’t people see I’m just trying to make things better?

And the spiral goes on and on.

I’ll admit—I can be a worst-case-scenario thinker. Once I start down that path, it’s hard to get out of it. But that’s exactly when I stop and remind myself of my “why”—the things I’m thankful for and the reasons I keep going.

So, if you’re having one of those days, weeks, or even months, I encourage you to do the same. Pause. Reflect. Find your “why.”

And most importantly—always remember this: YOU ARE LOVED. Someone out there needs you here today, tomorrow, and always. 💕
